Kent McFuller isn't a popular boy. In fact, he is thought of as a nerd. He and Samantha used to hang out as children, but as they grew up, they grew apart. Kent plays an important role in the novel, being the host of the party that Samantha attends on her last day alive. He also brings out the good in Samantha and participates in a short romance.
